Electronic Data Interface
EDI delivery of results provides clients with electronic transfer of laboratory result data. Clients may choose to either retrieve or have LabCorp send data files into a designated system.
Features:
- Two delivery options available:
- Mailbox: Client initiates file transfer
- Direct-Send: LabCorp initiates file transfer
- Data file can be sent to the client over the Internet; supported protocols include FTP, FTP over SSH, and FTP over SSL
- Client-defined file delivery frequency
- Specimen data are archived for three years and can be retransmitted upon request
- Reduces and/or eliminates data entry into client’s system
- Increased efficiency through paperless result reporting
- Easy access to archived data
- Client Information Technology programmer resources
- Client destination system for data import
- If Direct-Send method is selected
- Client-maintained FTP server with FTP software
- Optional secure protocols:
- SSH
- SSL
- If secure protocols are not used, data files must be encrypted:
- S/MIME Security Certificate or PGP Public Key
- Decryption software
- If Mailbox method is selected:
- Dial-up file transfer software (eg, PROCOMM)
